Central Alberta Pride Society was founded in 2012 to bring LGBTQ+ awareness and community to Red Deer and surrounding areas. It organizes events, most of them family friendly, to welcome members of the LGBT community as well as friends, family, and allies to participate in fun, social activities and to foster a sense of pride and community in Central Alberta..
Turning Point Society of Central Alberta, formerly known as The Central Alberta AIDS Network Society (CAANS) is a local charity responsible for sexually transmitted and blood borne infection prevention and support in the Alberta Health Service Central Zone.
Pride on Campus seeks to (1) promote acceptance, awareness and understanding of the gay and lesbian community of central Alberta, (2) provide a comfortable and safe environment to discuss issues around homosexuality/bisexuality and transgendered issues and (3) diversify the lifestyle of gay/lesbian/bi/trans students by promoting socials and events.
